Pick potatoes that are as uniform in shape and size as possible.
Scrub as much dirt as possible off the potatoes with clean water.
Place the trivet (or basket) in the Instant Pot, along with one cup of water.
Place the potatoes on the trivet or in a steamer basket, no need to prick with a fork.
Put the lid on the Instant Pot and turn the knob to Sealing.
Press the Manual or Pressure Cook button and set the time to: 15-20 minutes for small potatoes, 20-25 minutes for medium potatoes, 25-30 minutes for large or extra large potatoes.
You can do a quick release after the timer is up. You can also leave them to naturally release the pressure, just keep in mind they keep cooking during that time.
If the potatoes have some resistance after being poked with a fork after cooking, add 1/2 cup of water, close the lid, and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Remove the potatoes and serve with your desired toppings!
